Martin lives in Colorado with his very tolerant wife, and two young children. When he is not participating in rope access or rigging, he enjoys mountain biking, rock and ice climbing. He loves being on the job site but especially enjoys teaching others new skills. Martin teaches SPRAT rope access, rigging and several disciplines of rescue techniques. Martin is a former Firefighter, is medically trained as a First Responder and has been volunteering with the Alpine Rescue Team as a Technical Specialist for over six years. As a guide, Martin has led many expeditions around the world and has summited the highest mountain in all seven continents. He is an International Technical Rescue Association (ITRA) Level III instructor & assessor, and is American Mountain Guides Association trained. A 20 year veteran of the Alpine Rescue Team in Evergreen, Colorado, he also serves as a Terrestrial Rescue Delegate to the International Commission for Alpine Rescue (ICAR) on behalf of the Mountain Rescue Association and is certified to American Institute for Avalanche Research and Education (AIARE) Level 2.
